🌟 Instructor Shoutout! 🌟 Meet Wendy Field!

Wendy’s love for ballet, contemporary, and jazz dancing began in her childhood and continued through her teens. In 1966, a physical therapist asked her to teach dance classes at his gym, leading Wendy to become a physical therapist herself. She earned her Doctorate in ‘The Science of Athletics’ in 1983 and has since taught proper techniques in stretching, weight training, American smooth ballroom, country, and line dancing for 35 years. Wendy has worked with pro athletic teams, provided post-surgery and injury rehabilitation for all ages, and owned and operated her own health club for over 26 years on Anderson Island, WA, USA.

Now back in her hometown of Bournemouth, Wendy offers ‘combo’ classes at BOH Studios, featuring ballet-influenced floor and barre stretch exercises designed to increase flexibility, balance, coordination, and posture, followed by beginner ‘West Coast Swing,’ the country ‘2 Step,’ and the ‘Night Club 2 Step’ and more. Her classes are fun and improve general well-being and fitness for both males and females equally. Wendy also offers general health tips, recommending three classes a week for maximum benefits.

🌟 Instructor Shoutout! 🌟 Meet Shauni!

Starting 5th of June 🤩

Shauni teaches Pilates, yoga, and parent-and-baby classes at BOH Studios. With a background in gymnastics and cheerleading, she began her training as a mat Pilates instructor in 2021. During lockdown, Pilates helped Shauni rediscover herself and rebuild her confidence.

With experience as a support worker, Shauni offers inclusive and accessible sessions, meeting clients where they are on their fitness journey and helping them move forward. She loves watching her clients’ confidence and strength grow, both in body and mind.

As her passion for teaching flourished, Shauni expanded her expertise to yoga and barre. Seeing friends struggle to stay active during pregnancy and postpartum, she focused on pre and postnatal classes, welcoming babies and toddlers so new mums can enjoy some much-needed ‘me’ time. Known as ‘Sunshine,’ Shauni’s warmth and positivity light up every class!

THERE'S SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE

BEGINNER

Beginners level is for student that are completely new to social dancing and students working on their basics. Each Beginner class works on the core basic steps and techniques of how to lead and follow through a fun routine that you can use in the social straight away.

IMPROVER

Improver level is for Students that are comfortable with the basics and are looking to expand their knowledge in how to connect the moves they know into combinations, while learning how to lead and follow more complex partnerwork routines.

INTERMEDIATE

Intermediate level is for students that are ready to take the next step after mastering the concepts from both the beginner and improver classes. Here we will be teaching challenging and complex routines and move combinations with a focus on both men’s and ladies styling
